Snooker isn't in the Olympic Sports, so a little contradiction there, Mudgie! Snooker players aren't even eligible for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Steve Davis came 2nd in 1987 and then he won sports personality in 1988.

I wonder if the rules have changed. I believe that a shortlist of sports personalities are published and the public can then vote. During a snooker tournament last year, I watched a discussion during a mid-session interval about the unfairness of snooker players not being eligible. One of the pundits said it was a disgrace that a sportsman such as Ronnie O'Sullivan couldn't get the award.

Quote
Snooker has failed in its bid to be included in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, while karate and surfing make a shortlist of possible extra sports. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association argued it should be accepted because of worldwide appeal.

Harley Quin is a mystery. He appears and disappears unexpectedly and by strange tricks of light and reflections; making his clothes seem brightly multicoloured like the theatrical Harlequin.

Yes, but Snooker, like darts, is associated with the consumption of alcohol and the International Olympic committee probably didnít want to offend Muslim countries by including it in the list of sports featured.

And football isn't?  ??? ??? ???

I don't seem to have heard of many trains being vandalised by snooker fans on their way home from a tournament.

HQ,
But the IOC will have looked at whether spectators are drinking alcohol during the event not what fans might get up to on their way home.
